XMPP-Jabber Server Configuration

Open Cobalt contains an XMPP/Jabber client that is used for both normal text messaging and for ad-hoc world rendezvous. Unfortunately, today's client currently has some limitations in its understanding of XMPP and may require some custom setup of the server.  Most specifically it uses the legacy SSL port instead of the STARTTLS mechanism for security. Many servers still support this, however a notable exception is the server at jabber.org. Recently added to the client is the use of DNS SRV records in the server lookup process. This means that XMPP servers like Gmail, where the domain part of the user ID may be different from the domain name of the server, can now be easily logged into .
